We are The Syndicate Kitchen. We believe that the location and style of cooking is irrelevant. The focus is not what one person is doing, but what we (producer, collaborator, chef and diner) can achieve together. We celebrate the bonds people can create around food.
This all starts with a simple idea, a bespoke private-dining and supper club experience created by award-winning, Sussex-based chef, Michael Notman-Watt and Front of house Jon Cannon-Girth. From the planting of the seed through to the last mouthful of a dish, the process of growing and cooking is just as important as the act of eating and drinking. We want to celebrate that process and put a spotlight on all the hands that have made it possible.
Both Michael and Jon are passionate about producing simple, delicious food that brings people together to share memorable eating experiences. Inspired by working in progressive kitchens like The Dairy in Clapham and 64Degrees in Brighton, as well as traditional institutions like Bistro Union in Clapham, owned by Michelin-starred chef Adam Byatt, Michael has picked up a very varied cooking style. Jon began his Hospitality career serving an apprenticeship at Galvin Bistrot de Luxe, moving on to manage the Michelin Starred Roganic, L’enclume and Restaurant Story. They both learnt one very important lesson: the only thing that truly matters is putting a smile on people’s faces - theirs included!
We want to open the door to our world of hospitality, to work together with people from every walk in life; comedians, musicians, artists, potters, bankers, accountants and web developers alike. Most of us have one thing in common, we love great food and company. And by working together with some of amazing men and women who produce and supply some of the incredible produce we have at our disposal, we want to put on events that are unique to the people behind it. Whether it is a beach-side BBQ with fishermen, a wine paring amongst the vines or a night celebrating the Delta Blues with some talented musicians and a bowl of gumbo. The only thing that needs to link all involved is an insatiable quest for quality food.
